AGM update
A socially distant AGM took place by Zoom on Sunday 29th November and was well attended. Full details will be available soon, but in the meantime here are some of the highlights.
There were several changes in the club Committee. Colin remains as Chairman, whilst Paula, Steve and Tony have stepped down from their roles. Many thanks to all three for their contributions. Ellen is our new vice-Chair, Kevin is the new club Secretary, Graham takes over as Treasurer, Mark is the new club Captain and our male and female welfare officers are Colin and Sally, respectively. Jonathan steps in to the newly created Communications officer and Tim into the new Run Leader role. A page will be added to the web site soon with the committee structure in more detail.
Tony has been given lifetime membership of the club in recognition of his 30 years at the club and 15 years as Secretary and Treasurer. Well done Tony, and thank you again!
In terms of what to expect in 2021, we will be looking into organising weekend long training runs, competition specific training runs as well as a club championship. Also, we will investigate having a club flag at organised events, as well as a Pegasus RC sign at the entrance to the Llandaff Rowing Club site. We’ll also be looking into setting up more social events. Finally, a survey will shortly be sent to all members asking for feedback on the ethos of the club and what we can do to make the club even better.
Overall, lots of positive initiatives coming up which we hope will allow the club to grow in the future. Further details on the above initiatives will follow in due course.
Christmas & New Year social runs
As we are all aware of the ongoing restrictions due to COVID and quite a lot of plans have been disrupted or cancelled a few club runners have asked about doing social runs over the holidays. We have put our heads together and although the final details are yet to be approved this is the plan which we hope to deliver for you all. We know that not every run will appeal to everyone and not everyone will be able to join in but we hope to see as many as are able.
