Club History
Pegasus Running Club was created in Cardiff in 1982 by a number of BT Telecom engineers and friends who were inspired to start running after watching the 1981 London Marathon. Founding members Stuart Raven, Dennis Williams and Gary Fowler applied to the Welsh AAA for membership.
The fact that the name and colours of the club clash with the Parachute Regiment are purely coincidental. The Pegasus name originated because the founding members were all running in Nike Pegasus shoes. The original club colours of Red and White clashed with Llanelli AC, and so the current colour of Maroon was chosen.
The club was originally based in the Western Leisure Centre in Ely along with Atlanta Ladies RC who later merged with the club.
